Wet Shaving

Prepare

First thing in the morning your face will be puffy so if possible avoid shaving just after getting up.
Always wash prior to shaving, this will remove dirt, oil, dead skin cells and any other debris which can get between the razor and your skin. Using warm water will open the skins pores, relax the muscles in your face and soften the whiskers. Cleaning the skin and softening the stubble will reduce the razor blade dragging and tugging, if the blade drags, the hair will not be neatly sliced leading to irritation, redness, bumps and ingrowing hairs.

Shaving cream

The shaving cream Black-Skin produces is intensely moisturising, we have done this to soften your whiskers so the razor can slice through then with the least resistance greatly reducing tugging and hacking at the hairs whilst shaving.
The cream is extremely lubricating, allowing the razor to glide over the skin, reducing drag, this protects the skin and reduces the likelihood of the hairs being pushed and trapped under the skin causing shaving bumps.
Because the cream is so thick it can suspend the stubble in the cream presenting the best possible angle for the razor. We recommend you apply the cream to a wet face stroking against the direction of the beards growth.

Use a sharp clean razor to shave first in the direction of the hairs growth. Shave first the areas of your face where the whiskers are their least thickest, this is to allow the thickest hairs extra time to be softened by the shave cream. During shaving, rinse the razor frequently to ensure it is clear at all times. If you want a closer shave, wet the face again, reapply shaving cream and shave again against the direction of the hairs growth, do so gently, many men, black men in particular find shaving against the grain can cause ingrowing hairs and bumps.

Use a shave toner and moisturiser after shaving

After shaving rinse away remaining shave cream with cool water, this will calm the skin and close the pores.
Both Black-Skin's 'moisturiser' and 'after shave toner' are designed not clog the pores or follicles in the skin, this is because stubble that is trapped and unable to grow beyond the skin will grow inwards causing ingrown hairs. The moisturiser will replace moisture scraped away by the razor. The toner will condition, calm and sooth skin irritated by shaving, it will also help prevent ingrown hairs and shaving bumps. Apply first the toner first then the moisturiser
